Raise the Colours is a grassroots movement for unity and patriotism. It began in South Birmingham, where a small group started putting Union and St George’s Cross flags up in their local area. In the organisation’s own words, it then spread “suburb by suburb and city by city” into a nationwide movement.
The organisation was co-founded in 2025 by Ryan Bridge, who leads it today. Its stated mission is to “cover every town, city and village in the UK with the colours that remind us who we are and what we share.”
Raise the Colours is committed to lawful civic activity and does not encourage vigilante behaviour or unauthorised action. Find out more on the official website: raisethecolours.org.uk.
Every $RTC trade sends creator fees straight to Raise the Colours, helping to power:
Help with Ryan Bridge’s legal costs in his ongoing court cases, including the High Court injunction case brought by Birmingham City Council, which Raise the Colours says it is challenging on freedom of expression and assembly grounds (Articles 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights).
Raise the Colours says donations fund flags, banners and resources for communities across Britain, and Ryan Bridge has said its donations go on sending flags to people all over the country.
Supporting the volunteers and day-to-day costs of the campaign, as set out by the organisation: [CONFIRM_OTHER_USES_WITH_RTC]
Ryan Bridge is the co-founder and leader of Raise the Colours. Ryan grew up in Birmingham in a working-class family. The flag-raising grew out of remembrance flag displays that had gone on locally for years.
We have reached out to Ryan Bridge and Raise the Colours, as we’re looking to permanently direct 100% of $RTC’s creator trading fees to fund the work they do. They don’t currently receive any funding of this kind, and we know the huge difference these funds could make for the organisation. When this happens, weWe’ll update and announce once this is in place.rsquo;ll announce it on our socials and website.
